CR Patil hints ‘No Repeat Theory’ for next Gujarat Assembly Elections

Himmatnagar, Sabarkantha (North Gujarat): Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President CR Patil today hinted that the party may field at least 100 new faces in the next year’s Gujarat Assembly elections. CR Patil was addressing his party workers meeting here in Himmatnagar where he distributed ‘Page Pramukh Cards’ to the party cadres. CR Patil also hinted that there can be at least 100 new faces that will get the party tickets for the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2021.

There will be five to six surveys before the distribution of the tickets and it will be done at the highest level within the party. The decision will be taken on the basis of how many worthy works have been done by the current MLAs. CR Patil categorically added that he will not listen to anyone’s recommendations while distributing the tickets.

Patil added that there is no permanent place for anyone in the BJP, hence the worker who works harder can definitely try and get the party ticket for the next Assembly elections in Gujarat. He again added that there is no place for a third political party or a third front in Gujarat’s politics. He called the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ‘the frog party’.

The no-repeat formula has been tried only last month when the entire Gujarat ministry was changed including the then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The new Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had no experience of any ministry till he took over the reins from Rupani. Days later when the Bhupendra Patel cabinet took oath all the 24 ministers were fresh and without any experience.

CR Patil’s latest statement means that he will continue with this no-repeat theory in the elections as well and he and other top leaders of the BJP are confident enough that this newly carved theory will help them to win the Gujarat Assembly Elections once again.

The BJP is in power in Gujarat for the last 26 years and has managed to win all the big Municipal Corporations just a few months back and continued its winning march in the gram panchayat and Zilla panchayat elections as well. Even in last week’s Gandhinagar Corporation’s elections, the BJP managed to win 41 seats out of 44.

Not only this BJP is also ruling various co-operative societies across the state and that makes it almost invincible in state politics. It is notable that CR Patil is already in the action mode for the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022, and their opponents are yet to start the preparations.

In next year’s elections, it is visible that the newly arrived political party AAP will also contest on all or most of the 182 assembly seats. This will make the fight three ways, and as per political pundits of Gujarat, that must help the BJP to retain power in the state for one more time. If the recent corporations and panchayat elections are any hints, the political pundits’ predictions may come true.

Gujarat has recently got a new Chief Minister along with a brand new cabinet, which means the blank slate formula of the central and state BJP may create the magic next year.
