A BJP MP predicts early assembly elections in Gujarat

Gujarat is scheduled to have assembly elections in November next year, but a Gujarat BJP MP has claimed that the state will see early assembly elections which will benefit the party.

Bharuch (South Gujarat)

Despite a firm statement by the Gujarat BJP Chief and MP CR Patil that the Gujarat assembly elections will happen at its scheduled time, a five-time Member of Parliament from Bharuch and former Union Minister Mansukhbhai Vasava has claimed that the state will see an early assembly election.

Just two months back when Vijay Rupani resigned as Gujarat Chief Minister, and Bhupendra Patel took over, it was speculated that Gujarat may see early assembly elections along with Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and a few other states. But, just a few days back both the Election Commission of India and CR Patil have categorically denied the chances of having an early election in the state.

The Election Commission of India had clarified that they have no time and resources to conduct an extra election along with Uttar Pradesh and other states.  Gujarat not only got the new Chief Minister but it also got a fresh-faced cabinet as well and politically it can be observed that the new team needs an ample number of months to show their performance before going to the public to revote them.

But, the Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava has claimed that Gujarat assembly elections can be held as early as in the next five to six months. He has also added that he and his party colleagues will fight these elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and will win them with a record margin of seats.

In recent years Mansukh Vasava has shown his displeasure about the functioning of the Gujarat government under Vijay Rupani many times in public, but with the change of guards a few months back, it seems that Vasava has full trust in the new regime and is very enthusiastic about winning the next Gujarat Assembly Elections which are scheduled to held during November 2022.

Mansukh Vasava, a popular tribal leader from the tribal belt of South Gujarat is a Member of Parliament from Bharuch since 1998 when he defeated Congress’ giant leader late Ahmed Patel in a by-election. He even served as a minister under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first government.

What do you think about Mansukh Vasava’s claim that Gujarat will have an early election along with Uttar Pradesh and other states early next year? Do let us know in the comment section given below.
