Officials have to Answer Elected Representatives’ Phone Calls: Cautions CR Patil

The BJP Gujarat President CR Patil has once again cautioned officials of various ministries of Gujarat that they will have to answer the phone calls from the elected representatives.

Amreli (Saurashtra)

CR Patil, the president of Gujarat BJP was addressing BJP karyakartas at Amreli’s Kachardi village in Lathi taluka today during Diwali Sneh Milan. He has cautioned officials of various ministries of the Gujarat government that they need to answer the phone calls from the elected representatives of the state including MLAs and Ministers and need to do the job asked by them.

He added that the new Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has ordered all the officials to do the same after taking the oath of his office. From now on no excuses will be tolerated for not answering the phone call by officials.

During the time of Vijay Rupani as Chief Minister of Gujarat, MLAs, Ministers, and representatives of local bodies complained to Patil that their phone calls remained unanswered by the officials most of the time and hence their various public service works remain unattended.

Patil pointed out that these elected representatives call the officials to serve their various constituencies and if their phone calls remain unanswered, such attitude will not be tolerated in Gujarat. The officials will now have to save the numbers of all the elected representatives across the state of Gujarat on their mobile phones and will have to answer their calls.

This is not the first time CR Patil has to caution the officials on this issue. A few days back while addressing a BJP Sneh Milan at Kadodara near Surat, he gave the same advice to the officials of Gujarat state government.

The untimely exit of Vijay Rupani from CMO Gujarat was based on this issue only as per a few political analysts of Gujarat. Many elected representatives including ministers have complained that officials do not give enough attention to their phone calls and to their problems facing within their constituencies. Many karyakartas of the Gujarat BJP also felt at that time that the Gujarat government is run by babus and not by the CM and his ministers.

What do you think about what CR Patil said to officials of the Gujarat government? Do you think this will change the way our official work? Kindly give your views in the comments section given below.
