But not only these three Gujaratis, but there are also many more Gujarati companies across India that have made their name and trust among all Indian for their products.

So, let us know about those Gujarati companies which are controlling the Indian markets.

Reliance Industries (RIL)

From energy to petrochemicals to textiles to retail to telecommunications and to natural resources, Reliance Industries have their big presence everywhere. Reliance has one of the biggest refineries in the world situated at Khavdi near Jamnagar. Their entry into Indian telecommunication created a revolution in the Indian telecom industry, to say the least. Established by Dhirubhai Ambani in the last century Reliance Industries has been well handled and managed by his elder son Mukesh Ambani today and he has made the group even stronger than it was a decade back.

Reliance Petroleum, Network 18, Mumbai Indians (IPL cricket team), Reliance Smart (the retail chain), Reliance Jio (telecommunications), and Saaavn App (music) are a few of the major companies owned by the Reliance Group.

Adani Group

This huge business group is owned by Gautam Adani who started his career as a diamond merchant but later became a trader under the banner of Adani Enterprises Limited. Just like Reliance, Adani too has diversified his business to many ends. Today Adani is dealing in ports, trading, oil and gas, power, edible oils, mining, thermal power projects, etc. When it comes to the richest persons of Asia, Gautam Adani’s name comes just next to Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries.

Tata group of companies is one of the oldest business groups in India. Tata group was founded by Jamshedji Tata in 1868. Starting with steel plants the Tata group now owns companies that are dealing in auto, software, power, chemicals, coffee, and other beverages, telecom, watches, and even five-star and seven-star hotels across India and the world. What makes Tata group different than any other company in India is that the Tata Group perhaps enjoys the trust of Indian people more than any other business group of India as they never compromise with the quality of any of their products.

A small agitation against the atrocities of Polson Dairy in 1946, later became a huge milk revolution not only in Anand but across Gujarat, and today Amul has become the second name of milk and milk products in entire India. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has also spread its wings and now they have milk-producing plants in different parts of India as well. Apart from milk, cheese, paneer, and even pizzas are popular products of Amul in India.

Karsanbhai Patel who started making soaps and detergent powder in his own home later became one of the biggest businessmen of India. He is probably one of the richest men in Gujarat state. He gave his product a name called Nirma that became the second name of detergent powder in Gujarat and later in India as well. Today Nirma Enterprises has also diversified its business. Karsanbhai Patel was conferred with Padma Shri by the president of India just a few years back.

Along with the Tata group, the Godrej group can also be considered as one of the oldest business houses of India. The Godrej group was founded by Ardeshir Godrej and Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej way back in 1897 and today Adi Godrej is at the helm of this prestigious business group. During the last century, Godrej was the only brand name when it comes to buying refrigerators in India. During the 1960s, 1970s and most of the 1980s Godrej enjoyed almost no competition in the refrigeration business in India. Today we can see more products being manufactured by the Godrej under the names of Godrej Consumer Products, Godrej Properties, Godrej Agrovet, and Godrej Infotech.

More than 75 years back Mohanlal Chauhan a Gujarati entrepreneur established Parle that became the second name of biscuit in India. Parle-G is one of the most popular brands of India and Parle is now over a billion-dollar business empire.  But, sadly a few years back Parle group was separated into three groups Parle Agro, Parle Products, and Parle Bisleri. A few will be surprised to know that the name Parle was given by Mohanlal Chauhan from the suburban area of Mumbai, Ville Parle.
