Mission Raniganj is a movie with a mixture of emotions, nerve gripping thriller, pride for the country, politics, serious miners and their care for the family. Everything is perfect in every frame. I have always been a fan of the thing that is written in the movie trailers that is “Based on true incidents/stories.”  This thing with a genre of Thriller/Suspense is the cherry on the cake.

There are 3 bad things which is a very bad tragedy which has happened with Mission Raniganj. 1st is No Promotions. I think this has become a trend or the production companies are not interested in doing promotions because there were only 20% of the audience in the “Akshay Kumar” movie. I will not blame Akshay Kumar here as he did make a comeback with OMG 2 but before that, we all know he had a bad phase. And I am just hoping that this movie should start to get maximum “Word Of Mouth” as this movie should have a family audience and it should have a Super-Hit tag. Because of this movie in some of the scenes you will indeed become teary-eyed or you may even cry.

The 2nd bad tragedy for Mission Raniganj is the Poor VFX which is shown in the film in the mines which was ignorable after some time as you become so gripped through the movie you even forget how poor the VFX was.

The last thing that is a bad tragedy for Mission Raniganj is the dialogue was not syncing properly in a scene, Akshay Kumar says “Bharat”, but it was clearly seen that he was saying “India” as that the dub maybe could have changed after the name “Bharat” was named.

At first, the movie was going to be named “Capsule Gill”, but after that, they named it “Mission Raniganj” as I now think it would have been better if they had named the movie “Capsule Gill”, it would’ve been good. Let’s talk about performances then:

  • This is the 1st time, I have written a preview of performances in the movie, Everyone’s performance from Akshay Kumar to all the supporting cast, everyone was outstanding!
  • As we all know, this is Akshay Kumar’s favourite genre, and I personally love to see him in this genre as the 1st movie he was inspired from in this genre was Airlift, and here in some moments, I started recalling Airlift. Akshay Kumar as Jaswant Gill is powerful as well as fabulous in 1st 20-30 minutes of the film, he was not shown more, but after that, he came throughout, and how awesome job he has done is what you too will watch when you will see Mission Raniganj. Akshay Kumar as Jaswant Gill is worth watching!
  • Parineeti Chopra as Jaswant Gill’s wife, was like she was having an extended cameo but did have a good performance throughout the movie.
  • Kumud Mishra as Jaswant Gill’s boss, indeed makes an impact throughout the movie with his expressions as having lesser dialogues but makes a strong impact with his expressions.
  • Pawan Malhotra has a small role as he comes just before the 2nd half but he had a great performance.
  • Ravi Kishan and Dibyendu Bhattacharya are the two surprise packages of the movie, as both had a strong impact, especially Dibyendu Bhattacharya. When he comes on screen, the 1st fanbase that will recognize them is the “Mirzapur Fanbase”. In the 1st scene of him with Akshay Kumar, he is playing a portrait of a negative character; in the 1st scene, you will start thinking that this guy will rock throughout the movie. Talking about Ravi Kishan, his accent, his mixed expressions, his taunts, everything was perfectly on point. Ravi Kishan and Dibyendu Bhattacharya are the two best things for the movie.
  • There are other people in the supporting cast, which are Varun Badola, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Jameel Khan, Ananth Mahadevan and Sudhir Pandey, where Rajesh Sharma, Jameel Khan and Sudhir Pandey stand out tall as they all did a great job.

So Mission Raniganj is a gripping thriller film that will make you feel the adrenaline, feel like crying, feel proud of the nation and overall, a great Akshay Kumar movie that has no chance of disappointing you. I would like to request you all again not to wait for this movie to release in OTT and to watch it in theatres as it promises to have a great theatrical experience.
